Lee Enfield Rifle, one of many captured by the I.R.A. at Collinstown Aerodrome, 1920. Short mark III* 1917, marked crown over GR, Enfield 1917, Sht. 4. E. III*, weapon number D 8963, bolt marked L 2984, circular plate on butt marked I.L.F./P.W./780. Scratched on bronze plate which is screwed to stock behind back sight: 'C Coy. I. Batt./Fingal Brigade/Skerries.' It was purchased from the Rush Co., I.R.A. and used in the attack on Rush Barracks and in other activities by the Flying Column of the Fingal Brigade. Rifle owner, SeamusO Muireadaigh, was adjutant of C. Co., 1st Batt., Fingal Brigade.;
