Liam Mellow's prayer book. A 608 pp. Cullen of Dublin edition of 'The Imitation of Christ' with a small photograph of Mellows attached to one of the front blanks, enclosing a memorial card to Mellows (EW.5450a), and with the following manuscript note on one blank page inside front "Liam Mellows had this prayer book while in Mountjoy Jail A prisoner of war, M.J. Woods", and 'Liam Mellowes Died that Ireland might live. He was done to death in Mountjoy Jail on December 8th 1922 as a reprisal for the shooting of a man in the streets of Dublin on the previous day although Liam had been taken prisoner since July 1922'.;
