souvenir / Belfast Prison, 1918

One of three brooches of two designs made in Belfast Prison in 1918. The brooches (one harp, two 'Tara' type) were made from the lead pipes of the prison Laundry and the casting was accomplished by the aid of a prison cell bath brick. The designs are a trefoil and a 'Tara' type. The designer and a craftsman was Liam Shaw.;
