souvenir / Con Colbert, 1916

Belt said to have belonged to Con Colbert. Leather, with clasp of a harp surrounded by a wreath of laurels. It was given by a British Army sergeant who was with the forces then in Kilmainham Jail to James Sweetman, Esq., uncle of the donor (who went there daily on duties for the Corporation) at Kilmainham on the morning of the execution of C. Colbert, May 8, 1916 - as a souvenir.;
