Royal National Lifeboat Institution Certificate presented to Daniel Shea. 'At a meeting of the Committee of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution for the Preservation of Life from Shipwreck held at their offices, London, on the 2nd day of December 1858 the following was ordered to be recorded on the Books of the Society and to be communicated to Daniel Shea. Resolved. That the Silver Medal of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution be presented to Daniel Shea of Her Majesty's Coast Guard Service in acknowledgement of his gallant and perservering conduct in putting off in a boat and assisting to rescue at considerable risk of life, the Crew consisting of six men of the Schooner "Ajax" of Plymouth which was wrecked during thick weather near Porthcawl on the morning of 13th October 1858' Signed by Richard Lewis, Secretary, and Thomas Chapman, Deputy Chairman.;
