Badge of the United Irishmen, taken from the body of Lord Edward Fitzgerald. Dark green ribbon badge, with embroidered with gold thread with lettering 'United by Friendship', within an oval suspended by a riband and with wreath underneath. A piece of paper adherred to the front reads 'Taken from Lord Edward Fitzgerald the 19th July 1798 when lying dead, Leo Macnally'. A piece of paper on the back is inscribed 'From Leonard Macnally Barrister at Law to General Deveraux of the Irish Legion raised by him, for emancipating the oppressed inhabitants of South America and punishing their tyrants, 20 July 1819'.;
