Cartoon postcard, one of a series called The Republican Postcards 1906 - "Catching Recruits". Relates to forced enlistment of a drummer boy in Limerick, by S. (or J) M. (Jack Morrow), 1906. Depicts Recruitment Officer blowing a whistle whilst holding down a small boy with his right foot. Reads 'John Kelly, aged 10, arrested for having "kicked up his feet" and thrown a piece of bread at a woman in the streets of Limerick. He was let out on condition he became a drummer boy in the English Army'.;
