Bible / Countess Markievicz

Countess Markievicz's bible. Printed Oxford University Press, 1874, received by Countess Markievicz, April 1876, when she was eight years old, from her grand-mother, Lady Fanny Hill, the mother of Lady Georgina Gore Booth, the Countess' mother. In 1876 Sir Robert, the Countess' father died. The Countess had the Bible for 51 years. In it are dried roses taken from her bed after her last illness and a picture of her grave taken by Stanislas Markievicz. Inscribed on inside of cover: "Constance Georgina Gore Booth, from Grandmamma. April, 1876".;
