Framed Notice. Framed declaration or 'Divisional Proclamation' of martial law in Cork, Tipperary, Kerry, Limerick, Clare, Waterford City and County, Wexford and Kilkenny. Issued by E.P. Strickland, Major-General Commanding 6th Division and Military Governor. The declaration prohibited the use of a motor car or bicycle between the hours of 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. Length 857. cm x Width 58 cm. Note: letter from donor attached to rear of frame suggests that this is the only existing copy of this document. It was given by the donor by Larry Stewart, Stewart's Hotel, Canopy Street, Cashel, Co. Tipperary, c. 1953. Previously, the notice had been displayed in this hotel.;
