uniform / Irish Volunteers, 1914-16

Irish Volunteer jacket c. 1914-1916. In green bullswool, with Sergeant's stripes on breast. This is unusual as they are normally on the shoulder. Dark green cuffs and shoulder straps, with a gold cord running through the left shoulder strap. Five gilt buttons with IV and harp down front, also one smaller version on each of the two breast pockets. Breast pockets are box pleated. This is an early version of an official pattern Irish Volunteer uniform, designed early 1914.;
