Bronze key from Athlone Military Barracks. Retained by British officer named Ruffle when the barracks was taken over by Free State forces. 11" long, shaft .75" diam. and made to fit a keyhole a at least 2.75" in height. Marked along shaft B. MAG I.P. OUTER DOOR. Sent from W.H. Ruffle, 21 Woodsland Rd., Hassock, Sussex, England - a son of the officer concerned - to Mr. Twohig of the National Mutual at College Green who gave it to donor.;
