Badge of Royal Arch Purple Chapter of Ireland. Orange Order. In form of a shield .8 x .7 ins. Blue enamel with arch enclosing 2.5 under an eye with a ladder at right and a star (5 pointed) on left. Set in a black woolen golliwog 3.5 x 1.2 ins. and enclosed in a tin box 3.5" x 2" on cover of which is written 'BLACK MAN'. Used by W.J. Nolan to 'crash' a UVF meeting near Derry about 1914.;
