Lintel stone. Dublin, early 19th century. Granite. Carved with the word 'POLICE'. Lettering early 19th century. Possibly from one of the first police stations established when the national constabulary was constituted in 1822. The lintel was discovered during archaeological excavations for building work on a College Street site. Removed from site 8th January 2000. Length 159 cm x Width 45.5 cm x D 30cm;
