Spider phaeton. Light four-wheeled passenger carriage. Two-seater, single horse. Turntable mechanism to the front, metal. Wooden wheels with metal rims. Leather seat with button and diamond decoration. Leather and metal driver seat to the rear. Painted black leather panel to the front. Body of wood, painted green, and black with a red trim. Shafts of painted metal, detached. Hubcaps marked with maker’s name ‘Kennedy & Sons, Belfast’. Harness rests inside vehicle. These traps often used by gentlemen for show and competition. Probably mid to late 19th century.;
