Helmet badge or plate, Royal Irish Constabulary, about 1900. Brass, with bronze finish. Design in open-work and relief. In centre, a harp; above, a crown; around the harp, a wreath of shamrocks with, on one side, ROYAL, below, CONSTABULARY, on other side, IRISH – all on scrolls. Behind, and held in position by the three lugs for attachment to helmet, one lug missing, a piece of red cloth visible through openwork part of badge and forms a backing for it.;
