The photograph was taken by the British authorities in 1916 prior to Alderman Doyle's deportation.
Alderman P.S. Doyle, T.D., of Avondale, Tyrconnell Road Inchicore, Dublin, was Quartermaster of South Dublin Union Garrison, Easter Week, 1916. He was also Lord Mayor of Dublin between 1941-1943 and 1945-1946. His witness statement is numbered WS0155.;
