Colour print in red, black and blue - one half shows Gladstone speaking at Hawarden ; 'Why not blackthorns against batons if the people are illegally assailed'. The other shows T. Walsh, editor and proprietor of the Cashel Sentinel being flogged by a Removables Half Pay Officer Waring, and Policeman Irwin for reporting Mr. Gladstone's Statement - 'Why not blackthorns against batons, if the people are illegally assaulted'.
