cap badge / Vinegar Hill, 1798
Cap badge, with bullet hole, worn at the Battle of Vinegar Hill, Enniscorthy, Co. Wexford, during the 1798 Rebellion. Green textile, with metal emroidery,in the shape of an Irish harp (top), with tassles attached to the bottom section. With a letter from Mr Arthur Ryan to Lady Esmonde, dated October 1898, gifting the badge to her collection.
