The Invincibles. The Phoenix Park murders of Lord Cavendish and Thomas Burke, 1882. Hackney Driver's badge, iron. Carried by James Fitzharris, who drove the Invincibles to and from the Phoenix Park when Lord Frederick Cavendish and Thomas Henry Burke were murdered, 1882. Elliptical iron plate, 4 inches x 3.5 inches, enamelled white both sides and, on either side, in black: D(Crown) P/2486/DRIVER. Leather strap for suspension at top with slot cut to engage on button. With this item on presentation was a card of the Donor (see File) on which was written: Badge of Mr. James Fitzharris, presented to my mother by Mrs. Fitzharris. T. McCann.;
