Robert Emmet / United Irishmen

Robert Emmet's United Irishmen seal ring. The stone is an emerald brought from India by Sir John Temple and given by him to his cousin Emmet's father. The design, Robert Emmet's, was cut in Dublin and shows a woman playing a harp with pikes and a liberty cap in the background. Designed for use by Thomas Addis Emmet as organzing agent of the Directory of the United Irishmen.;
