commemorative badge / Parnell Memoriam, 1891/2
Parnell Memoriam Gold Badge. 9 ct. in form of a Celtic cross with black enamel on front where inscription reads, above, 'In Memoriam' and below 'Charles S. Parnell'. The centerpiece is a harp while the arms of the cross are completed in Celtic type scrollwork. At back, above, 'Let My Love Be Conveyed' across 'To My Colleagues' and below, 'And to the Irish People'. On shaft, 'Born 1846 Died 1891. Diestruck in small tissue (Birmingham marks for 1891/2) for a few personal friends, this belonged to Mr. J. Walshe, Balla, Co. Mayo uncle of donor. Brooch pin at back is a later edition.;
