coatee / Irish National Foresters, c. 1877

Tail coat of the Irish National Foresters, about 1877 and following. Green with turned back collars decorated with sequins in trefoil shape. Each sleeve has a gold thread chevron. One small bronze button by Comyns & Co. on left shoulder (no epaullettes) and 5 large buttons by same maker on coat proper, all bearing '1782' raised within a floral wreath (these are buttons of the 1782 Club).;
