Engine 2-2-2, W. and L.R., said to have been built for W.&L. in 1846 by Stothert and Slaughter (must have been later, as first portion of line - Limerick to Tipperary, was not opened until 1848). Outside cylinders - 15" x 22". Diameter of wheels - 5'9". Wheelbase - 15' 6". Line extended to Clonmel 1852, to Fiddown 1853, to Dunkitt 1853, to Waterford 1854.
