Carved jade ornament, in presentation box. Ornament attached to the inside of the box lid. Presentation plate in brass atached to the front, reading 'Presented to His Excellency Dr Patrick J. Hillery, President of Ireland by the Right Honourable David Lange on the occassion of his visit to New Zealand 20 to the 27 May 1985'. Paper label inside reads The New Zealand Academy of Fine Arts, founded in 1882' with a handwritten inscription 'A526 Hepi Maxwell', probably the artist.;
