Single, a bricklayer, late Lieutenant American Volunteers, age 36, height 5 foot 7 inches, complexion fresh, hair brown, eyes grey, nose and mouth regular, oval visage, average make. Photograph numbered 5.
A handwritten note at the back of the album reads ‘These photographs, except number 2 who was arrested in Manchester, were taken while the persons named, many of them it will be seen have held commissions in the U.S Army, were in custody in Ireland during the suspension of the Habeas Corpus Act, about 1868.;
