Letter, typescript with handwritten detail, from War Office to Thomas M. Gick, dated 25 August 1914, re lack of opportunity at present for inclusion in the Special reserve of Officers Army Service Coprs. Suggesting he submit an application for a temporary commission in the Regular Army Service Corps on Form M.T. / 393 (memorandum attached).
Thomas Malley Gick, born in Dublin to C. Hemsley of Sandymount, Co. Dublin. Educated at Grammar School, Kingstown. Clerk at the Great Southern and Western Railway. Gazetted Second Lieutenant 14th Battalion Manchester Regiment December 1914, but attached attached to 14th Kilng's Liverpool Regiment. At Salonika.
Joined 7th Battalion Royal Dublin Fusiliers, served with them from 26 October to 11 December 1914, before promotion to serve with other units. He was in later life Secretary of the Claremont Institute for the Education of the Deaf and Dumb, Molesworth Street, Dublin. Also Registrar of the King's Hospital School, Blackhall Place, Dublin. He lived at Corrivreckon, Glenageary Road, Glenageary, Co. Dublin.;
