Mahogany klismos chair, circa 1835, used by Daniel O'Connell during his confinement in Richmond Prison in 1844. Carved palmette terminals on the back rest. Turned front legs with carved, stylized acanthus leaves. Silver, harp-shaped plaque on the crest rail inscribed 'Richmond Prison, 1844' which is of a later date. Upholstery not original.;
