Suit of Armour, comprising - Helmet, face piece with neck piece attached; Gorget; body piece with tassels; two arm pieces with gauntlets; two large shoulder pieces; two greaves of steel; two steel foot pieces each formed of eight parts joined by chain mail, and short trousers to knee, of figured silk at the back and japanned steel in front. The helmet, neck piece, gorget, body piece and trousers formed of Japanned steel laced with blue silk and decorated with gilt brass ornaments, and stamped leather. The arm guards of steel plates and chain mail sewed on to figured silk. Japanese, 17th century.;
