A small packet containing a fragment of Irish velveteen style woven fabric, blue stripes on a cream ground; with a similar sized fragment of calico lining; handwritten on the packet the words 'a bit of the waistcoat he wore the day he was wounded, June 4th 1798'; June the 4th has a line through it. Refers to Lord Edward Fitzgerald's capture on 18 May. 4 June was Fitzgerald's death. Part of the contents of a small green purse of wallet belonging to or relating to Lord Edward Fitzgerald. The green purse and its contents were bequeathed to Lady Campbell in 1851.;
