Officers Uniform Cap, Free State Army. Originally belonging to General Richard Mulcahy. Field-green officers cap with embroidered insignia, leather band and trim. Size 6 - 7. Dark green military peaked cap with a badge at the centre front and a two pieces of dark brown leather forming a strap above the peak. The cap is lined with a green-blue twill woven fabric. The crown is padded and there are five lines of machine stitching through the lining at the crown. There is an internal leather hatband and a piece of tabby woven stiff jute (?) fabric lying behind the hatband. The peak is very stiff. The number "6¼" is written on the leather at the back of the hatband.;
