Bulletin written by Pearse in the General Post Office early on Tuesday morning, 25th April 1916, and subsequently published by Joseph M. Stanley on page 4 of the Irish War News of the same day. Pearse wrote this first communiqué from the G.P.O. in copying ink pencil on heavy typewriting paper (probably from the stock kept there for official use). Ref. J.J.
