Lady's military style jacket. Jacket, navy/black, with black braid trimming and twelve round braid buttons. Round neck, black satin lining. Four buttons on each cuff. Fan-shaped tail. Maker's label inside; 'Wolmerhausen, Military Tailors and Habit Makers to Her Majesty the Prince Consort and the Royal Family, no 49 Curzon St, Mayfair, W.' Inscribed in fading pen is the date '24/8/70' (top) and 'Mrs Jones' (bottom of label). Probably 1870s. Possibly made for the wife or female relative of an officer.;
