Painting, or portrait of an Officer of a Militia Regiment, early 19th century. In full dress uniform, with ceremonial sword. Scarlet coatee, with cream or buff collar and cuffs, gorget at neck inscribed 'GR' with a crown above. Gold wire epaulettes. White leather cross belt, with cross belt plate depicting what appears to be a Sphinx, suggesting service in the Egyptian Campaigns during the Napoleonic Wars. Officer is holding a map.;
