Photograph of a drawing of the Dublin and Kingstown railway locomotive 'Princess', built at the company's works at Grand Canal Street, Dublin, 1840. One of the first engines built in Ireland, and five years older than the Drogheda engine 'Victoria'. Cylinders -11" by 16"; boiler pressure -90lbs per square inch. Driving wheel diameter 5'6". At this time the Dublin to Kingstown guage was 4'8.5". It was converted to 5'3" in 1854-55 when the line was leased to the Dublin and Wicklow Railway.;
