County of the City of Dublin (Illegible) Stamp of the Clerk of The Crown By the Rt. Honble and Honble the Commissioners of Cyer (illegible) and Terminer (illegible) for the County of the City of Dublin at a Commission of Cyer (illegible) and Terminer (illegible) held by Adjournment at the New Sessions House in Green Street in the said County of the City on the 26th Day of June 1798 Whereas Henry Sheares and John Sheares were and Each of them was at the said Adjournment in Lawfull Manner Indicted Tried and Found Guilty for that they on the Twentieth Day of May then before and on divers other days as well before as after at the Parish of St Michael the Archangel in the County of the City of Dublin falsely Wickedly and Traitorously did Com_ass (?) (illegible) and (illegible) our Lord the King from his Royal State and Government of this Kingdom to (illegible) and (illegible) and (illegible) to Kill and put to Death And on the same Day and at the same place falsely Maliciously and Traitorously were Adhering to Aiding And Comforting the persons Exercising the Powers of Government in France and the Men of France under the Government of said Persons Enemies of the King It is Thereupon Ordered by the Court that they the said Henry Sheares and John Sheares and Each of them be taken from the Bar of the Court where they Now Stand to the place from whence they Came the Gaol: that their Irons be there Stricken Off: that they be from Hence Drawn to the Common place of Execution the Gallows: and that there they and Each of them be hanged by the Neck, but Not until they be Dead for whilst they are yet Alive they are to be taken Down, their Entrails are to be taken Out of their Body and whilst they are yet Alive they are to be burned before their Faces; their Heads are to be Respectively Cut off their Bodies to be Respectively Divided into four Quarters: and their Respective Heads and Bodies to be at his Majesties disposal and It is further Ordered by the said Court that the Execution of the said Judgement be done upon them the said Henry Sheares and John Sheares and Each of them in Manner and form as Above Setforth on Saturday the Fourteenth Day of July Next That is to say on Saturday the Fourteenth Day of July One Thousand Seven hundred and Ninety Eight - These are Therefore in his Majesties Name (illegible) Chargeing and Commanding you the Sherriffs of the County of the City of Dublin in whose Custody in his Majesties Gaol for the said City the said Henry Sheares and John Sheares now Remain to Repair to the said Gaol and thereout take the Bodies of them the said Henry Sheares and John Sheares and them so taken out to Cause Execution of the Above Judgement to be Done upon them the said Henry Shears and John Sheares and Each of them in Manner and form as Above Setforth on the aforesaid Saturday the Fourteenth day of July One Thousand Seven hundred and Ninety Eight; And for your so doing this shall be your Sufficient Warrant Sealed with my Seal of Office and Dated as Above To The Sherriffs of the County of the City of Dublin By the Court Benjamin (Illegible), deputy (?) to (?) the Crown ;
