Padraig Pearse's Irish Volunteer hat. Dull green felt hat, bound with silk pugree of almost the same shade. Brim turned up on one side and secured to crown by stud, slouch fashion. Brown leather band and strap inside. No badge or other users mark. Said to have belonged to Padraig Mac Piarais, and worn by him when he surrendered to the British on April 29th, 1916 and again on the morning of his death in June, 1916.;
