British Government Ordnance Badge. Lapel badge, bronze, of the type issued to workers in English Government Ordnance Factories during World War 1 to show that they were engaged in war-work and to prevent them being given white feathers. 1.7 x 4.5 cm overall crowned oval band enclosing a shield depicting 3 guns on their carraiges. On the band 'On War Service 1915.' This badge (no. 65502 on buttonhole pin section) had been given to Mr. George King whose silence was necessary towards the I.R.A. munitions work in Broadstone in 1921.;
