form / Liam Mellows, 1920-21

Traveller's Order Book, used by Liam Mellows. Limp cover, interleaved for carbon copies, with sheet bearing printed name etc. of Hely's Ltd., Dame St., Dublin (the suppliers) on cover. Originally had 100 pages numbered serially. Entries of orders, etc. in connection with drapery trade, dates 1920-21, initialled W.N. and some names and addresses of business houses. All writing in pencil and in the hand of W. Nolan. All the entries in the book seemingly relate to business. W.N. was Liam Mellows and the firm for which he travelled was, seemingly, L. Doyle & Co., Dublin. According to Donor Nolan was "the name we gave him when we found detectives were after 'a Mr. Andersen (sic) from the States'". She says "They never discovered who Mr. Nolan was and Liam went around rather freely and never attempting disguise only on his work as (?) D/P". Cf. E.W.1505 below.;
