Death warrant in the case of the Queen against Patrick Kilkenny, Co. of Dublin, 1865, for the wilful murder of Margaret Forker (Faraquar). Addressed to the sheriff. Foolscap double sheet. All MX. According to donor, who's grandfather, Thomas Flewett, was Deputy Govenor of the gaol, Kilkenny was the last person to be hanged in public in Kilmainham Gaol. With envelope marked 'On Her Majesty's Service' and 'Kilmainham Gaol'. The information re Kilkenny is inaccurate, as the last public execution in Dublin took place in 1868. Kilkenny was the third last person to be publically executed.;
