Silver mounted wooden rod used by Daniel O'Connell as Lord Mayor of Dublin in 1841 to beat the bounds, I.E. the ceremonial outling of his jurisdiction as Mayor. In two sections painted white with silver tips and silver swivel joint over which passes a cylindrical silver tube inscibed THE RIGHT HONBLE DANIEL O'CONNELL M.P. LORD MAYOR 1841, the tube for keeping the two sections in alignment when unfolded.;
