Postcard photograph; Liam O Briain. Captain, 4th Battalion, Irish Volunteers. Fought at St. Stephen's Green during the Rising, and interned until September 1917. On his release he became a Professor of Romance Languages at University College Galway, while remaining in politics with Sinn Fein. He was also interned during the War of Independence.
