Cycling cup (with stand). This cup was won outright by Mr. Michael Walker (Snr) in 1914 for winning the Irish Roadclub 50 mile race (3rd year in succession).
Michael Walker represented Ireland (under the British umbrella) in the 1912 Olympics in Stockholm. He also joined the Irish Volunteers at its inaugural meeting in November 1913 and served with the 2nd Battalion in Jacobs during Easter Week. He cycled across the city to deliver messages and to reinforce the Volunteers around Boland's Mills, but was forced back at Mount Street. He and his brother were interned in Stafford Jail in England. Michael went on to fight in the War of Independence.;
