The War of Independence Service Medal, or Old IRA Medal. Bronze on an orange and black ribbon with bars. On the obverse is an armed Volunteer standing to attention, "Éire" and the crests of the four Irish provinces at each corner. "Cogadh na Saoirse" (War of Independence) in Irish script. Laurel leaves on the reverse. Cómhrac" (battle) in Irish script on the ribbon bar. These medals were issued by the Irish Government in the 1930s to members of the Irish Volunteers who were participants in the War of Independence.;
