priming horn /

Priming horn. Made from a Boar's tusk. Triangular in section carved in high relief on the three sides (two scenes) with Hunting scenes. The end terminating in a kind of hound's head. German, 17th century.

Cannon. Iron. Long tapering barrel, moulding round muzzle, two short trunnions, Y-shaped supports for trunnions; open breech closed by a hinged breech block with hook attachment at side. Straight handle to the rear terminating in a knob. Probably English, 17th century.

Carved bog oak truncheon. Bottom and top decorated with diamond pattern engraving, with Celtic Revival motifs carved on the body with a harp and shamrocks in low relief. Pierced approximately 8 cm from the end with a leather thong for winding about the wielder's wrist.
