Fenian bond / $10, 1866

Fenian bond for $10. Bond of the Irish Rebublic for ten dollars, issued by Cornelius Herlihy, Portland, USA, January 15th 1866, and signed by John O'Mahony. Engraved protraits of Lord Edward Fitzgerald and Wolfe Tone. This is two different bonds joined together, numbers 1139 and 1136.

 

Fenian bond / Fenian, $20

Fenian bond, for $20. Signed by Michael Scanlon. Also a signature of John Bruen present. Numbered 2494 and 1494. Date possibly March or May, the year not clearly completed beyond 186.., though a faint mark would suggest 1867.

Banknote, 'Republic of Ireland'. Fifty Dollars, No.1156 in red to the left and No. 1256 in red to the right. Payable to John Brien, signed Michael Scanlan. Dated May 15th, 1867.

Fenian bond, for $5. Signed by John O'Mahony. Numbered 2932 and 69. Dated March 17th 1866.

Handwritten note in ink, signed Peter Tone (father of Theobald Wolfe Tone), directed to John Sweetman. Was contained in Theobald Wolfe Tone's pocket book. 'Dear Sir, The enclosed has been ordered by my son to be delivered to you in rememberance of him and am your most obedient servant, Peter Tone'.
